The Schlage 650 Series keyswitches use a patented magnetic spring design allowing installers to configure momentary or maintained action quickly. They accept 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" mortise cylinders and are commonly used at ADA openings to enable/disable auto operators or control access to sensitive areas.

The installation sheet gives a recommended cutout and template for the mounting area, and says to remove material to a depth of 1-3/4" minimum. A compatible mortise cylinder with a straight-type cam is required. A blocking ring is needed for cylinders longer than 1-1/8".
