PreparationSurface-applied installation requires an interior building surface. For the fine-cover mounting plate, locate and drill the fastener holes in the door frame, wall or substructure using the applicable installation template before fitting the plate. Keep the frame and door area accessible and free of debris. Plan activation devices and their wiring before installing the operator; select the actual header and arm layout.
ElectricalMains supply: 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 6.6 A maximum. Provide a dedicated branch circuit with protection rated no more than 15 A. The ED100/ED250 accessory supply is a separate 24 VDC, 1.5 A output. Confirm the applicable conductor gauge and terminal requirements before wiring.

Conditional connectionsCustomer-wired mains input with separate protective earth: cable runs quantity unspecified; 3 conductor(s); wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating 115 VAC mains. Copper conductors; separate protective earth included in this count. Verify conductor gauge and branch-circuit requirements.; endpoints Customer mains supply to ED250 mounting-plate mains terminals and earth-ground post; when Installation configuration is For the direct customer-wired fine-cover installation illustrated in Fig. 8.5.1: three conductors per incoming power connection, including separate protective earth. This does not establish the number of feeds for a paired system or a new cable-pull quantity. The optional factory power-cord kit is a different installation arrangement.; Interior non-illuminated knowing-act switch: cable runs quantity unspecified; 2 conductor(s); wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating Dry-contact activation input; no powered-device or receiver conductors inferred.; endpoints Interior switch dry contact to ED250 X4 signal 42 and 0 V common 3; when Installation configuration is Optional accessory selected: IF the Interior non-illuminated, normally-open knowing-act switch is installed as in Fig. C1.2.2: two conductors per switch connection. This count excludes protective earth and supplies no illumination power. Terminal 1 (+24 V) is not used for this dry-contact connection. Cable-run quantity is installation-specific.; Exterior non-illuminated knowing-act switch: cable runs quantity unspecified; 2 conductor(s); wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating Dry-contact activation input; no powered-device or receiver conductors inferred.; endpoints Exterior switch dry contact to ED250 X4 signal 41 and 0 V common 3; when Installation configuration is Optional accessory selected: IF the Exterior non-illuminated, normally-open knowing-act switch is installed as in Fig. C1.2.2: two conductors per switch connection. This count excludes protective earth and supplies no illumination power. Terminal 1 (+24 V) is not used for this dry-contact connection. Cable-run quantity is installation-specific.; Powered or illuminated knowing-act device: cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating Device-specific power and control requirements; count unknown.; endpoints Selected powered or illuminated knowing-act device to ED250 activation input and auxiliary power connections; when Installation configuration is Optional accessory selected: IF a powered or illuminated device is selected, use that device wiring diagram. The operator provides 24 V for illuminated devices; the two-conductor dry-contact count does not determine the selected device total.
