PreparationUse the 4200 installation drawing for the exact 4211 on the selected metal or aluminum frame. Match its model-specific cutout and the selected square- or round-corner faceplate; install the shown mounting support where the frame is not pre-prepared with tabs. Position the keeper so the closed door does not exert pressure on it, and check the documented latch clearance against the original drawing. Select and test the required fail-safe/fail-secure action before final fitting. Keep the latch-status monitor on 4212 separate from strike power.
ElectricalThe strike is a wired DC solenoid unit. It needs a regulated DC supply at 12 VDC (0.20 A) or 24 VDC (0.10 A), continuous duty. The input is nonpolarized. The strike has factory leads (orange, orange-white, brown, brown-white) that are connected differently for 12 V and 24 V. The latchbolt monitor leads (red, blue, yellow) belong to the 4212 only and do not apply to the 4211. The number of field cable runs and their gauge are not documented.
