| Preparation | The jamb must be prepared for the cylindrical lockset using the cutout template for the chosen faceplate. The 801 faceplate is documented as fitting most standard ANSI A115.2 1" deep dustboxes without cutting. If the strike is placed in an existing dustbox, the dustbox must be drilled for the wire connections. Templates assume a standard 1-3/4" thick door and frame. The 801E faceplate is for frames with extra snap-on trim or casing, and the 801A is for aluminum frames. The door and frame must be unmodified, plumb and square with a minimum 1/8" gap. The strike ships in Fail Secure mode, with Fail Safe conversion available. The fail-secure mode is subject to local authority approval. |
| Electrical | Solenoid operation is 12 VDC or 24 VDC for continuous duty. AC operation is 12 VAC, 16 VAC or 24 VAC only for intermittent duty, with 10% maximum duty cycle and 2 minutes maximum on-time. Select the voltage-labelled connector for the actual system voltage and verify the input with a multimeter before connection. Optional monitoring contacts are separate from strike power. |

| Conditional connections | Solenoid power pair, illustrated fail-secure circuit: cable runs quantity unspecified; 2 conductor(s); wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating Match the strike voltage-labelled connector to the selected 12 or 24 VDC system; use the model-specific manufacturer gauge table. Nonnumeric same-interface installation context (does not broaden the count condition): Use the actual manufacturer voltage and operating-mode configuration. The power connection is separate from optional monitoring. Internal coil links, pigtail lead count and controller contacts do not establish one total field conductor count or cable-run quantity. Use the manufacturer supply/duty specification for the exact model; actual cable length and gauge are installation-specific.; endpoints 8000 strike power connector to External DC power source and control relay NO contact; when Installation configuration is For the 12 or 24 VDC fail-secure connection shown in Diagram 1a: two field conductors terminate at the strike power interface, one positive through the external control relay NO contact and one negative/common return. This excludes internal coil-configuration links, optional monitoring conductors and protective earth. It does not establish cable-run quantities or a universal conductor total for other configurations. |
