The RCI 916/918 are tamper-resistant round mushroom push buttons with an extruded aluminum 1/4-inch beveled-edge plate for durability. They are available in momentary (2-SPST), maintained (2-SPST), or time-delay (DPDT) switch configurations; the 916 is intended for handicap use and the 918 for exit operation.

Preparation	Select the 916 handicap or 918 exit button, the required switch mode and standard or narrow plate before preparation. The standard unit mounts to a single-gang electrical box; the narrow version mounts at a compatible narrow-stile door frame. Fit the supplied stainless steel tamper-proof screws using the supplied spanner bit. Confirm box depth, clearances, substrate and the exact fixing template for the selected version before drilling.
Electrical	Select the exact 916 or 918 switch suffix before connecting it. The manufacturer manual lists momentary and maintained versions with one normally open and one normally closed SPST contact, and time-delay versions with DPDT contacts and a separately mounted timer. Use the matching terminal diagram and verify the controlled circuit against the selected switch contact rating. A contact rating is separate from any optional timer supply requirement.
