Camden CX-ED2071 and CX-ED2079 are low-profile, Grade 2 ANSI 'Universal' electric strikes for cylindrical locksets, offering field-selectable fail-safe/fail-secure operation and horizontal adjustability of the strike body. CX-ED2071 operates at 8-16V AC/DC and includes (3) stainless steel faceplates; CX-ED2079 operates at 12/24V AC/DC, is UL 1034 and UL 294 listed, and also includes (3) stainless steel faceplates (CX-ED2079-1 includes 1 faceplate).

PreparationThis package contains ANSI-square, hollow-metal and wood-frame faceplates. Use the purchased black finish. Select the correct faceplate/template for the actual cylindrical latch and frame. Align the strike with the latch, mark and prepare the required mortise, and test-fit before fastening. Use the supplied brackets for hollow-metal preparation; check an existing ANSI cutout and modify only as required by the matching template. Use the documented wood-frame fasteners for wood. Confirm actual template and depth rather than treating all faceplate drawings as one cutout. Preserve operation of exit/panic hardware. Select fail-secure or fail-safe using the mode screw/set plate as instructed and test latch engagement after adjustment.
ElectricalSelect the actual12/24V AC/DC supply and matching supplied voltage harness before connecting the strike. The voltage-selecting harness has two external supply connections; internal coil wires and joins are separate. For the documented DC cut-wire option,12V uses red/black positive and blue/green negative;24V uses red positive and green negative with black/blue joined locally. Fit the supplied varistor across the supply pair as shown. DC polarity annotations do not apply to an AC supply. The manual gives300mA at12V DC and150mA at24V DC; AC operation buzzes and DC is silent. Use the documented Class2 power-limited supply for the manufacturer-listed application. Select fail mode and supply before scheduling cables. Physical cable runs, cable type, gauge and shielding are not established by these terminal or factory-tail counts.
