The CX-ED1410 (standard depth, 5/8"-3/4" latch projection) and CX-ED1420 (low profile, 1/2"-5/8" latch projection) are UL 1034/UL 294 and UL 90-minute fire rated, ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1 electric strikes for cylindrical locksets. They offer dual 12/24V AC/DC voltage and field-selectable fail-safe/fail-secure operation, with an ANSI square faceplate and trim plate included.

Low-voltage wiring Required
BasisStructured, independently qualified product connection evidence
PreparationThe strike is mounted in a mortise cut in the door jamb. The cutout must accept the strike and its specified depth. Hollow metal frames also need two mounting-bracket holes drilled. ANSI frames use the supplied screws, and the cutout is cut only if the jamb does not match the strike size. Low-voltage power must be available from a transformer or power supply. Fail safe/fail secure operation is set by the mode screw and set plate.
ElectricalThe strike needs low-voltage power: 12/24V AC/DC, with current draw of 260mA at 12V and 150mA at 24V. The supply is connected to the strike's factory wires, and a varistor is connected across the input wires. The 12V and 24V connections differ. For UL 294 / UL 1034 compliance, a Class 2 power-limited supply is required. No separate relay or control cable is documented. The cable gauge and the number of field cable runs are not documented.
