PreparationPosition the endcaps on the door frame and door, align the loop path, and mark cable-passage and mounting holes using the endcaps. Drill the documented 3/8 inch (9.5mm) cable-passage holes through the frame and door. Drill mounting pilot holes 3/32 inch (about 2.4mm) and secure the endcaps with the supplied #6 x 3/4 inch screws. The optional smaller passage is printed as 1/4 inch (2.5mm), an inconsistent dimension; obtain manufacturer confirmation before using that alternative. Insert the selected door-device cables through the loop and thread its ends through the endcaps without sharp bends or tension.
ElectricalRoute the selected door-device cables through this power-transfer loop between the door frame and door. The loop manual provides wire-fill capacity, not a required conductor count, cable-run quantity or a prescribed field wire gauge. Determine those requirements, cable type and shielding from the exact connected lock or other device, controller, selected circuit and site routing. The older family specification and the April 2025 installation manual give different fill capacities; confirm the applicable product revision before selecting the cable bundle. Do not treat the hollow loop or its endcaps as a populated cable or infer one cable run from the accessory quantity.
Preparation requiredYes
Conditional connectionsDoor-device conductors routed through the power transfer cable loop (conditional on the installer's cable): cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints door frame side to door side; when Installation configuration is Optional accessory selected: IF the installer routes door-device cables (for example for an electric lock or crash bar) through the loop. The number of cable runs and conductors depends on the connected device. The maximum fill for CM-PT250SS is 4 conductors at #18 AWG, 8 at #20 AWG and 12 at #22 AWG.
