Camden CM-5000 Series are heavy duty 2-3/8" mushroom push buttons with a vandal- and tamper-resistant 1/4" thick brushed aluminum faceplate and a built-in adjustable 1-60 second pneumatic time delay that requires no power to operate. They are designed to de-energize electric locking devices on egress doors and control electric locks, electro-magnetic locks, electric strikes, and automatic doors in high-traffic areas.

PreparationProvide the single-gang mounting arrangement for this model and allow clearance behind its faceplate for the contact assembly and wiring. Secure the faceplate with its supplied mounting hardware. Insert wiring into the top and bottom contact-block terminals and tighten the screw terminals. Follow the numbered terminals and verify the installed contact blocks before commissioning; do not identify contact operation from the mushroom button color.
ElectricalFor a selected low-voltage controlled circuit, this maintained push/pull model provides normally open and normally closed contact operation. Each used SPST contact connects through two external circuit conductors. Select the NO contact, NC contact, or both functions to match the controlled equipment; keep their terminal assignments distinct. Follow the numbered contact-block terminals. The wiring chart and supplied-spade-lead table use different color descriptions, so verify the actual block and lead set. Factory spade leads do not establish field cable-run count. Physical cable-run quantity, field cable type, gauge and shielding require the connected-device instructions and site routing. Contact-load ratings describe the switched circuit, not a separate switch power-supply requirement. The manufacturer manual lists both 10 amps and 6A contact ratings; verify the installed block rating before selecting a load.
