Camden's CX-ED1579L is an all-in-one, Grade 1 fire-rated electric strike with built-in latch monitoring at no additional cost, for use with mortise and cylindrical locksets. It offers universal performance with five stainless steel faceplates, field-selectable voltage, and fail-safe/fail-secure operation, and carries UL listing with a 3-hour fire rating (UL10C/CAN4-S104).

| Preparation | Use the purchased stainless-steel faceplate set. Select the correct faceplate and template for the actual mortise or cylindrical lockset and frame. Prepare the jamb to the matching drawing, install the brackets loosely, and use spacers as described to make the faceplate flush before final tightening. Place the latch-monitor plate, deadbolt bracket and keeper shims for the actual right- or left-hand installation. Verify latch engagement and preserve exit/panic hardware operation. The manufacturer limits the documented fire rating to fail-secure operation; do not assume that rating for fail-safe mode. |
