Camden's CM-74 and CM-75 Series top-activation Column push plate switches are surface mounted and designed for installations with no obstruction above the unit, offering a discreet appearance. The CM-84 and CM-85 Series side-activation Column switches are two-piece units with a surface-mounted back box, designed for use when an overhead obstruction prevents a top-activation model, when mounting on a narrow curtain wall, or when the unit must pass through a glass panel.

Low-voltage wiring Connection count needs review
PreparationThe unit mounts on a flat wall surface, or on a CM-42/CM-48 bollard or an aluminum frame. The mounting hardware is supplied. It can be installed with or without a recessed electrical box. It needs a 12-24 VDC supply. The wiring access hole and mounting holes must be prepared on site. The French manual is the only installation text supplied for mounting, and the CM-7436VR title and model are the same in both languages.
ElectricalThe unit is a 12-24 VDC powered device with Common/N.O./N.C. relay contacts and a remote LED control option. It needs a DC power connection and a connection to the controlled device. The wiring diagrams were not supplied visually, so conductor counts and cable runs are not stated here.
Preparation requiredYes
Electrical wiring requiredYes
Conditional connections12-24 VDC power input (red +, black ground): cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-7436VR red and black leads to 12-24 VDC power supply; when Installation configuration is Base product power. The red lead takes 12-24 VDC and the black lead is 0 VDC ground. This is separate from the relay control circuit.; Relay output to the door operator or controlled device (green N.O., blue common, purple N.C.): cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-7436VR relay leads (green, blue, purple) to Door operator or controlled device input; when Installation configuration is Base product relay control. Which relay leads are used depends on the controlled device and the N.O. or N.C. wiring chosen. Using all three is not implied.; Remote LED color control (yellow green LED, white red LED): cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-7436VR yellow and white leads to External ground or SPDT contact; when Installation configuration is Only IF the optional external LED mode is used: the supplied jumper is installed on the mode pins and the yellow or white lead is brought low to ground. Not needed for the default internal sensor-controlled LED mode.; Power supply to the switch (12-24 VDC): cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-7436VR red lead (12-24 VDC) to CM-7436VR black lead (0 VDC) to 12-24 VDC power supply; when Installation configuration is Base product, VR model: the product is documented as a DC-powered device and must not be connected to AC. The colour-coded lead functions are listed in the wiring table. Cable count and gauge are not documented in the supplied text.; Relay output (Common / N.O. / N.C.) to a door operator or controlled device: cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-7436VR green lead (relay N.O.) to CM-7436VR blue lead (relay common) to CM-7436VR purple lead (relay N.C.) to door operator or controlled device input; when Installation configuration is Relay control is separate from the supply. The lead functions are listed, but which leads are used depends on the application (the diagrams show an operator and a DPDT relay). The wiring diagrams state that unused conductors must be individually insulated and taped. The relay contact rating is 1 A at 30 VDC.
