Camden Door Controls CM-45/46 Series all-active switches are heavy-duty, ADA-compliant door controls with 4-1/2" square stainless steel or aluminum faceplates, designed for easy installation on standard single or double gang electrical boxes. The SPDT (optional DPDT) switches are UL/CSA approved and rated 15 amps @ 30 VDC.

Product specifications
Contact rating 15 amps @ 30 VDC
Switch type SPDT (optional DPDT)
Material stainless steel or aluminum faceplate
Dimensions 4-1/2" square faceplate
Low-voltage wiring Required
BasisStructured, independently qualified product connection evidence
PreparationThe CM-45 mounts to a standard single-gang or double-gang electrical box, either an in-wall (flush) box or a surface-mount enclosure. Flush mounting uses four #6-32 x 1-1/4 in screws and surface mounting uses two. The switch is fastened by hex key through holes in the faceplate. The product is 1-3/8 in deep. The documents list compatible surface boxes and a flush box, which are separate accessories. The manual states no box depth requirement for the in-wall box.
ElectricalWired momentary SPDT Form C dry-contact switch for the selected low-voltage controlled circuit. The documented layout closes COM to NO when pressed and leaves NC unused in that layout. Treat another selected contact arrangement separately. The switch contacts control an external device;their contact rating is not a requirement to power switch electronics. Field conductor count, physical cable runs, wire type and gauge are not established by the contact-state diagram alone.
Preparation requiredYes
Electrical wiring requiredYes
Conditional connectionsMomentary dry-contact output (COM/NO) to the controlled device or circuit, such as a lock, door operator or request-to-exit input: cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-45 switch COM and NO contacts to Controlled device or circuit input; when Installation configuration is Base product, standard wired CM-45 using the COM-NO contacts. NC is not used in the documented table. Conductor count and number of cable runs depend on the site and have not been confirmed.; Switch contact circuit: SPDT Form C momentary contacts (COM / NO / NC) to the controlled device such as an electric strike, maglock or door operator input: cable runs quantity unspecified; conductor count unspecified; wire type not documented; size unspecified; shielding unspecified; rating unspecified; endpoints CM-45 switch SPDT contacts (COM, NO, NC) to controlled device input; when Installation configuration is Base CM-45 wired push plate. The manual wiring page describes the contact states: COM-NO connects when pressed, and NC is shown as not used in the diagram. The manual does not state which terminals are wired in a given job, the cable run count, the conductor count or the gauge. The wiring page is headed 'For CM-46/CM-46CB Models', so its applicability to CM-45 is only by the series manual. The CM-45 page shows 'Connecting Wires' leads and wire nuts in the parts kit, but their lengths and roles are not stated.
